I actually wrote a comedy screenplay a few years ago that sounds identical to this film. I was shocked when I read the plot synopsis. My script was about a corrupt CIA operative who tries to sell a list of moles within the Russian government to a Cold War obsessed hit man. The trade-off is a fuck-up and a traveling businessman visiting Washington, D.C. ends up with the list of names. The CIA and Russian hitmen begin pursuing him and the script includes a wonderful variety of comedic characters. The tone and wackiness and basic structure is identical to the Coen Brothers film, or at least according to the script (which is online and which I have studied with great scrutiny).
Given that my screenplay was posted online for a few months free to read, is it reasonable to assume - because of my intense popularity as an Internet icon - the Coen Brothers read my script and stole the ideas? And wouldn't the idea of the Coen Brothers stealing my screenplay make a great Charlie Kaufman/Spike Jonze movie, too?
OMG I hate the Coen Bros now!!!
I can't believe they did that, John. Sucks, but that's Hollywood, dog!!!!!
BTW Kudos on your Rambo review!!!!
Keep on truckin.
