A Perfect World

Lately I've been thinking about how I'd set up my life in a perfect world, and I realize I wouldn't really use computers much. I realize that being on computers isn't something I actually enjoy. In a perfect world I wouldn't use computers more than an hour a week.

So I'm trying to cut back. It's difficult not because I'm addicted but because I use the computer for so much that my livelihood depends on. But I'm still trying to cut back.

I would also like to eliminate cell phones, but I just signed a new 2-year contract. fuck all.

I'm thinking of buying Iceland and utopifying it. Lemme know if you want in from the get-go.

I know what you're saying. I stayed with my dad in Naples for about a month last year and he had no Internet, no computer, and only four local TV channels in Italian. So basically I didn't watch any TV or do anything online the entire time. And it felt kind of liberating. Once I returned to America I was immediately on the computer 2 - 3 hrs. a day again doing school, work, downloading, blogging, whatever. And it sucks when that becomes such a regular thing. I am going to join your fight. We'll be like the American Pie guys, except instead of trying to lose our virginity before we graduate, we'll try to not use computers as much. I just hope the sequel is better than American Pie Band Camp!
